New way of backing up a deck?

okay so when we make a deck we obviously have the cards, but lets say there's a mistake in a card? such as a number or element, that usually means we have to remake the card completely right? well how about this, you guys know how you have the basic frame? well what about if you save the basic frame each time, so when you make a new card for your deck, instead of starting alll over again, just cross out the eye on the image and put a new image over it, that way in the end, the frame will have ever single image on it (not showing but its there) and if you ever need to go back and change something, it would be an easy fix!

While, in theory, this is a great idea. There are a few practical flaws.
Firstly, file size. The *.PSD with only the original layers is only 464 KB. Try adding 120+ more layers to it, and watch those number climb. Quickly.
Secondly, availability. Just because Joe makes the OmgSoAwesome Deck and saves all the images into the *.PSD as you explained, when the chips are down and someone actually needs it, it doesn't mean it will be accessible by those that need it [or that Joe will be readily available or able to distribute said file/s].
Lastly, complexity. You and I [and most other players] are quite aware that there is a huge falter in the technical savvy [and just plain language]. Different people's PSDs could be in different languages, sorted differently, or may be saved without compatibility with other versions of Photoshop. It would take quite an effort to collaborate all of these factor, plus all the other random variables.
As, I do like the purpose and prose of the idea, I would suggest a few things in lieu of carrying this out;
As for my first point, limiting a single PSD to a single rank [I.E. all the level ones in one *.PSD, all the SEs in one *.PSD, etc] would greatly decrease the amount of space a single effort would take. Granted, in the long run, it would take up more space.
An alternate option would be to simply save the "portrait" pieces into a *.PSD without any of the "frame" pieces. It would cut down greatly on space consumption, but the user that creates said file would absolutely have to make sure the images are centered correctly.
As for the second area of discussion, making it part of the deck submission process to include aforementioned *.PSD backups would make them readily available to those whom where deemed needing of those files [or even perhaps a public repository for people to view and learn from].
The last bit, is completely and utterly community driven. There's really no way to ease the complexity of it all. All we could really do it make information on the process readily available for all to view. Video tutorials, descriptive images, and detailed walkthroughs for those who want to learn to learn from. That and having people in the community that want to assist people in the venture of doing such.
