Onslaught is on a distinguished road
Default Straw Hat Pirates

I. Introduction
Straw Hat Pirates was originally created to be simply a team name for myself and Pande/Kiro to play Team TT under after that game got us back into TT from a several year hiatus. The name came from the badass straw hats that we bought with our first 1200ish GP. All members are required to get the honorary pirate hat and wear it. Be proud of your pirate heritage. Argh! After I created the team name, immediately another player expressed interest in joining. I decided on a trial system and let the player tryout. And thus, the Straw Hat Pirates as a guild was born.

II. About the Guild
I have been known as an asshole, an elitist, a bastard, and most other negative names you can think of but one thing remains and that's my ability to play TT and to play it well. I have been around online TT for about five years. As a guild member, you are expected to be the best of the best. The goal is not necessarily to win all the time. I don't even do that. But, you are expected to be constantly improving yourself as a player. We constantly talk strategy, especially in the new Team TT field since this is a still fairly uncharted territory. If you think that three minutes is enough time for a move, this is not the guild for you. Likewise, if you think that speaking about the game this seriously is lame, well, this may not be the experience you are looking for. We are fun loving and joke alot (just look at the guild name) but our main reason for being on DW is to play Team TT/Regular TT and to get better at it. We did this years ago with regular TT and we are back and ready to do it with Team TT today.

III. Guild Rules
Basically, it's simple. Don't be a lamer. Don't cheat. The latter is fairly obvious but what does the first mean, you ask? Don't stack your deck. Do not hide your cards in the shop. These are things that lamers do. Even if the person you are playing is doing these things, you are expected to play the game fairly. You are the best. Act like it. If you lose, do it with a bit of dignity. Congratulate them and go on to play another game while trying to correct your weakness. Losing is not the end of the world and if you blame it on their luck, you are playing the wrong rules. I may be an asshole, but you will never see me bitter over a loss or publicly denounce the person that won. Once again, that is what lamers do.

IV. Tryouts
You've read all that and you still want to join? Well, maybe you do have what it takes. Maybe you don't. This is the point where you get to prove it. To join the guild, you must defeat me. You can post here and we can schedule a match. I will pick the rules but they will be fair. You are allowed two attempts per day. I will also consider several draws but this is entirely on a case by case basis.
