| Well, I don't have an answer to that, either and I'm going on the same assuptions as you; from what I've been told, there're several new elements that are going to be introduced in v2 of DW that revises guilds; there used to be a guild ranking system last year, but it's down for now, my guess, till v2. There also used to be guild wars, but they also lost public interest in time ;_; Not sure what else to say about wht individual players will get since there's not much info released on that matter and so far, you know pretty much everything that currently happens in a guild; that's pretty much all, for now =X

As for the purpose, this is a community game. People like the community based feel and if players want to, they can plan guild type events in or outside of the game. The problem you have is that with your criticisms is that you base what exists in this game to what other rpg based games have. You are comparing apples with oranges. You cannot do that. The functionality is there for people to find uses for and is only useless when functionality is never used. Kasumi has stated it perfectly when he says there are things in v2, which are already created and ready, to add more functionality to the concept of guilds. The limitation of what guilds can do and the purposes that they serve are limited to only the imagination of the players. Last edited by atomicstorm; 09-13-2006 at 02:30 PM.. |

| Ah ok I see. I get why they are here, but I fail to see thier uses. If this game were more divded (ie serval chat rooms and or various other aspects, like other games) it would make more sense to me. Im not trying to criticize thier existance, but I am trying to find out why people want me to join a guild when all the players are present in one chat space. Its not like people are in differnt chat rooms and do not have access to comminucate to eachother or that some large team based activity necesitates a group. From what I gather then the guilds are just simple groups of players wishing denote beloging to a group. Thanks for your replies. |

| Guild chat and normal chat are divided. You can use /guild to talk to your guild. I had planned on creating a trivia bot for those old diehard fans from long ago so that division will become useful. Because our user base is relatively small compared to MMORPGs, it doesn't make sense to make more chat rooms, etc. The objective to keep people playing is to consistently maintain critical mass. We have this now and I would like to keep it that way. Also, DW is more than just a card game. Some of the lesser mini games (Chinchirorin for instance) used to be popular before we added slots and TH. v2 was scheduled to have a couple extra games to it but I am probably going to release v2 without them and build from a new foundation. I lack the time these days to go full throttle. My career pays too much for me not to do the overtime ![]() Last edited by atomicstorm; 09-13-2006 at 03:20 PM.. |

| Oh I agree with that, Im not saying that should be changed. I just don't see any reason why anyone would want to be a guild for this game. I don't have a problem with people who do. Obviously people like guilds, I however, think that for such a small game its a waste of time. But that is my opinion. |

| my opinion on guilds, if you aren't in one, just makes you an anti-social goit, on a community based game

| In all honesty I do not cosider this to be a large social game. On average there is about 40 players on DW at any one time. <TNT> and DCon each both have more meber than that, and those are just clans/teams. I play this game in the background, so I see joining a guild as a waste here. If I want to talk to players there is the main chat or PM. I don't need the /guild jut to chat with people. But as I said this is my opinion. |

| here's my opinion you could try the other healthier alternative, clicking the X button located in the top left corner of DW, and then proceeding to click on exit, then going to your programs folder and deleting DW from your computer, just to remind you this isn't TNT or DCon or whatever, this is DarkWind (www.tripletriadextreme.com) <-- incase you forgot

| I ask a simple question about the guilds and offer what I think of them. As I said Im not trying to reform anything. I dont care if the guilds exist or not. I simply will not be a part of them here. No point as far as I can see. I never said this was TNT or DCon, and given by the way you act, Im glad its not. |
