Name Origin

For those of you who have taken a little bit of history, you'll have heard of the Knights Templar. They were a group of Christian warrior monks who protected those making the pilgrimmage to Jerusalem. These warrior monks were immensely skilled in battle. However, the Order also developed financial techniques that are used even today in modern banking. Some people were devouted to fighting, while others focused on banking. Each had their role in establishing one of the greatest forces and richest organizations to ever have existed.

For the record, King Phillip eventually arrested a large majority of the leaders on Friday 13th to avoid paying large debts and the Order dwindled. The three Grand Masters were burned at the stake.

The name "Knights Templar" was chosen for this very purpose. Those who are members of this guild will have close association with the Dark Wind Bank (DWBank). They will be trained to be amongst the best Triple Triad players in the game and thus be superior "in the battlefield". They will be trained in financial matters involving the Bank. They will be a close knit group aimed at developing a reputation that surpasses all other groups in Dark Wind.

Knights Templar Organization

This will explain the guild's overall structure and requirements.

• Guild Membership Capacity: 10 (Eight besides Andrew and Pake)
• Guild Requirements: Dark Wind conduct must be in line with game rules, members MUST be active, members must have played at least 1 month (get past the noob stage) and have a firm understanding of Dark Wind (both game rules and conduct rules), should be able to help the bank instead of being detrimental to bank's progress.
• Member additions have to be unanimous amongst the Leaders (Pakelika and Andrew). If either decides one is not fit to join the guild, they will not be added to the guild.

Knight Templar Application

Because of the elite nature of this guild, only a select group will be at the level we require. Each applicant will be interviewed by both Andrew and Pakelika. Pake and I will then discuss whether or not you are qualified for the guild. Our choices will be based upon the guild requirements stated previously. Each member is allowed to apply once a month if positions are still available.

Knight Templar Automatic Bonuses

Those chosen as members of Knights Templar will receive immediate benefits. These include:

• Loan interest rate drops to 5% (can be decreased, see guild points)
• 5% off of Bank's card prices (can be increased, see guild points)
• Weekly Salary (can be increased, see guild points)
• Participation in Guild events
• Bank will collect any one card of your choosing and give it to you at whole sale price (high level cards may not apply)

Knight Templar Positions

• Grand Masters: The Knights Templar leaders. This includes Pakelika and Andrew. They oversee the overall organization and progression of the guild. Their word is final in any and all matters. If any guild members have questions or problems, they should direct them towards the leaders.
• Chaplains: These are the officers of the guild. They will have complete access to bank's funds and will be allowed to give out loans, make changes in the card shop, and any other DWBank responsibility. These are highly trusted people who have showed tremendous capability in both Dark Wind gameplay and economics.
• Battle Monks: These players have both the responsibilities of knights and monks.
• Knights: These are players whose focus is to play wager games and acquire GP for the Bank. They will be rewarded accordingly with cards, salary, and special other bonuses. They are very skilled in a large variety of TT rules.
• Monks: Players that are given a set amount of GP from the bank and hunt for specific cards. They will purchase cards at a set price and relay them to the bank.

Knights Templar Pay

Everyone who has been actively engaged in the guild will be given a weekly salary. This will be based upon position and the rank you have in that position (see rankings within position). As you purchase higher rank with guild points (see guild points), your salary will increase. Salary may also increase for victories in guild events or special help in guild functions. The complete pay chart will be released at a later time.

Apart from the weekly pay, guild members will also receive immediate pay as they go about their duties. For example, as the monks spend the Bank's GP (which was previously given to them) on their card hunts, the bank will give them a certain percent of the intended profit. So, if Pakelika were to purchase a pupu at 50 GP and the bank intends to sell it later for 150 GP, we would give him 20% (could be changed) of the intended profit (100 GP), thus totaling 20 GP. We will do this even before the bank ever sells the card. Basically, members are getting paid for using the Bank's GP.

Knights sacrifice a little more than Monks. Since they are giving GP, it is hard for the Bank to pay out more to them than is donated. However, Knights will be given special benefits, such as the ability to purchase cards at extremely low prices and 0% interest rates for taking out loans. These are only possibilities, and may change. They will also be given a larger salary (though we understand that they are giving more than the salary they receive). No person is forced into this position. It is a position of choice. Any member can choose to remain a monk as long as he desires. One's rank can continually increase despite the fact one has remained either a monk the entire time. Moving from monk to knight is a change in position, and not rank.

Pay will be given out every Friday, Saturday, or Sunday by Pakelika or Andrew.

Rankings within Position

People will be able to upgrade their position (monk, knight, battle monk, chaplain) by purchasing them with guild points (see guild points). You will then be given a new title along with a higher salary. The exact names of these rankings have not yet been chosen, but they will be diagrammed soon.

Guild Points

As you go about your respective duties, you will be given guild points. The more cards you buy for the bank, the more guild points you will receive. The more GP donations you make, again, the more guild points you will receive. You can earn them by participating in guild events. The better you do, the more guild points you'll receive. You can obtain guild points for supporting the guild in other ways. The chaplains will receive guild points for giving out loans. The exact system of guild points has not yet been decided (i.e. how many points you get for buying a level 10 for the bank). This will be constructed before the guilds official opening day. With these guild points, you will be able to purchase bonuses (along with the higher rankings stated previously). The different kind of bonuses will look something like this (other bonuses will be added on at a later time):

• Decreased Loan Interest Rates to 4%, 3%, 2%, 1%, and Free of Interest Loans
• Increased Deduction on Bank Card Shop Prices to 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, Whole Sale Price (Limited Amount)
• Rank Purchase (exact system to be decided later)

If you've proven yourself trustworthy enough through participation and accumulation of Guild Points, you may be given access to the Bank (DWBank) and granted full guild privileges.

Conclusion

The information we have given you has been a rough sketch of the guild's intentions. Specifics will be noted eventually, but this start will allow us to gather up our members. Knights Templar demands activity. Those who are inactive will be promptly removed unless either Pakelika or Andrew have been previously notified. The bank wishes to share it's success with a number of people.
