| Legends of Pupu - Chapter 2 A Rude Awakening The words Midnight spoke continually turned in Andrew's head. Riddles were not foreign to him. He had begun dissecting the poem into different sections. If there was more than one chosen, than the 12 stars must be the chosen ones. Their forces together would be the only thing capable of overcoming the dark times ahead. Peace had betrayed these lands many years ago, and each day the darkness grew. This much Andrew had understood, but "beginning in the fire"...he figured that's where their quest should begin, but exactly where "the fire" was, Andrew did not know. The old sage's face drooped in confusion. Avelia had learned to keep quiet while Andrew pondered over such riddles. As she glanced at Andrew's face, she too felt despair sweep over her. "Beginning in the fire..." Andrew muttered. "Master, I thi..." started Avelia "Quiet, young one, I need to concentrate." "But Master, I belie..." "Not now Avelia, please, I must have silence." "It's in Jay's Dungeons Master," said Avelia quickly. Andrew glanced over at his new pupil, with a face as cold as ice. Avelia could sense the old man's gears churning inside his head. Suddendly, Andrew's face melted into a broad smile. He ran his fingers through his beard, which was white as sunlit snow. "So it is! My young pupil, though I've learned much, I still have much to learn. You may learn much from an old man like me, but know that I do not know all. One thing is for sure, I need to learn to listen, thank you." "Of course Master, shall we leave immediately?" asked the young girl. "No, I must make a stop first at an old friend. We are unprepared to visit the dungeons, and I feel he may have what we need. Off we go," and off they went at a quick pace, at least as fast as the old man's legs would allow. The two adventurers travelled due north for 2 days and northeast for another 3 days. They had travelled into the Eliad Plains, away from the dark forests. Soon, a small village came into view, and smoke could be seen coming from chimneys. A nice rest would be most welcome after their journey, and other food besides berries and roots were sought for as well. As they walked closer and closer to the village, something did not sense right. The patches of smoke grew larger and larger, and the front gate lay in two on the ground. As Andrew and Avey peered inside the small village, every building was lit with fire. Villagers lay dead in the street, both young and old, male and female. Fear shot through the wizard's eyes and he bolted to a half burned home. Andrew pushed the door will all his force, but to no avail. The door stood fast. Taking a step back, he closed his eyes, raised his right hand, and muttered to himself. Immediately, the door blasted open, and the wizard ran into the home. "Supa, where are you?" the old man yelled. No response. "Tame the flame with sacred rain," he uttered. A blue aura surrounded the wizard, and he walked through the fire without pain, nor fear. He entered into an upstairs room, and searched it keenly with his eyes. Their on the ground, lay an old man, singed from head to toe. "Let my faith give extra strength," he voiced out. He then lifted the old man up on his shoulders, and carried him out as quickly as he could. Andrew ripped off his robe, folded it, and placed it under the victim's head. Avelia looked on in horror, in a state of such shock to rendor her virtually useless. "Supa, talk to me, I command you!" screamed Andrew. The man's eyes cracked open ever so slightly, and looked at Andrew. "I knew you would come, friend, but it's too late for me. They took it Andrew. They had the Dark Dragon Banner. Be quick, or all is lost." His eye slits again closed, never to open again. Andrew bowed his head, with precious tears raining on his friend. "There is not much time for mourning, Avelia, but a man of such significance deserves a proper burial," whispered Andrew. "Yes, Master," she whispered back. After a shorter mourning than what was rightfully deserved, the two faced due east. "To the Brainian Fortress," cried Andrew.

| Legend of Pupu - Chapter 3 The Senses They travelled with such speed, they hardly noticed the green, rolling hills slowly changing into rocky plains. The closer they came to the Brainian Fortress, the darker it grew. An eerie feeling creeped into Andrew and Avelia's hearts, and their quick pace lowered to a cautious march. Many rocks stood tall and wide. "I'm sensing the enemy's approach Avelia, keep your senses alert," Andrew advised. Suddenly, an arrow soared throw the air, whistling straight towards the wizard's heart. Avelia thrusted out her hand quickly, and both watched the arrow burn to ashes but a dozen paces from where Andrew stood. They were dumbstruck. Avelia's training had yet to begin, and never had she learned the art of magic, yet, it had just saved her master's life. The young woman's eyes stared in a blank gaze, searching for answers about her hidden talents. Andrew put his hand on her shoulder and looked at her with such gratitude that their master-pupil relationship turned into plain and simple friendship. "You truly are one of the chosen ones Avelia, thank you. The enemy is in our midst, my senses have betrayed me into thinking they were further. Your senses have stayed true. Continue to be aware, otherwise..." "Otherwise you may be caught," came a voice behind a large boulder. A man walked out in the open, holding a staff that held red gems at its ends. The strength that surrounded him would cause most to bow down before him and follow his command. "Welcome to my humble lands, Andrew. I see you have found one of the chosen ones. Yes, I know there are more than one. My senses have not betrayed me as your's have. Your power has grown weak, and it will be my honor to use the rest of your power for my own use", he said. "My power may be weak DaBrain, but my power is used for the right purpose. A person of the least power can still be one of eternal influence. It is but a matter of time until your end arrives, and your memory be amongst the snares of the world." "Though your power has weakened Andrew, I see your motives have not. It is a shame that you did not join me while you had the chance. Lands beyond our imaginations would have been our's, to rule and to reign. But your "honor" forbid you to do so. Look where your honor has gotten you. Spending your entire life on an empty prophecy. A single chosen one will not save you, and now that you have brought her to me, I can dispose of this prophecy once and for all. Take them away!" A blue glow beamed from the two gems within DaBrain's staff, and a league of warriors were now seen surrounding Andrew and Avelia. Maybe Andrew's senses really were failing him, otherwise, he would have sensed all these people around him, invisible or not. Was DaBrain's power strong enough to block out the wizards detection of human life? If this was so, DaBrain really was someone to fear. The two were quickly bound. Andrew's cords were tied so tight that it severed the skin. Avelia put on a brave face and looked at Andrew with such confidence that all seemed to be alright. Together, they were marched into the depth's of the dark mage's fortress.

| I hope you peeps are enjoying reading this as much as I am writing it. It's great fun . Here's another chapter for yaz.Legend of Pupu - Chapter 4 Light vs. Dark The journey to the Brainian fortress was anything but easy. With their hands being bound, Andrew and Avelia had little balance on the rocky terrain. The two often tripped over stones and crashed hard against the ground. The Dark Warrior's brutality along the trip was no help either. They unmercifully whipped them for not moving quick enough, though the warrior's had no intention on speeding up themselves. DaBrain had seemed to have vanished, and was no longer present. A muscular minotaur, called Chief Gilgy, had taken the leadership spot. His horns were the size of men's arms, and his nose as big as a fist. He spoke with a low, raspy voice, as though something may be stuck in his throat. As they arrived to the outer boundaries of the fortress, he commanded the guards to open to the gate. The fortress lay within a thick wall. A score of men were seen atop them, glaring at the two prisoner's as they were swept within the gate. Andrew and Avelia felt quite unwelcome, as though any man within would gladly slay them, but for their master's word. Between the walls and fortress lay statues of unknown creatures. They looked as evil as anything they'd ever seen, and feared over the idea that they may truly exist. It wasn't long before they were standing in front of the large fortress, as tall as the largest trees. It was as black as midnight, with two towers of equal darkness on each side. Shivers raced down their spins as they entered the doors. They were led to an empty throne room, and left alone. Silence echoed against the walls, and neither Andrew or Avelia dared to speak. The quietness was soon shattered as a man appeared suddenly on the throne. It was DaBrain. "So, what do you think of my lovely home?" he asked with a smirk. "Its the last place in the world I'd want to live," responded Andrew harshly. "Now now, no need to be rude. Let's not waste too much time though. I'll make this quick Andrew. Because of my honorable heart, I will give you one more chance to join me, or be destroyed. What will it be?" "Why do you ask me when you know the answer? I will never join you, nor your cause. A mortality full of power is not worth an eternity of emptiness. Like I said before, your time will come, perhaps sooner than you expect." "My patience wears thin, old man. But alas, maybe I can convince you through other means," he said as his eyes switched focus to Avelia. "Perhaps this young lady will change your mind. Surely you remember the Drain of Power, Andrew. Here are your choices, either you join me and my cause, or I will first use the Drain of Power on her, and then on you. If you join me, we will together conquer the lands, one by one, until the entire known world is under our grasp. I give this second chance to you and none else. I will return in a short time and receive your answer." And DaBrain had once again vanished from sight. The two were left alone once again. "Master, what is the Drain of Power? And why would he only give you the chance of reigning with him? Surely, there must be other powerful wizards in this world," uttered Avelia. "Those are good questions that deserve answering. The Drain of Power is a spell that dispells a wizard of all his or her power and transfers it to the one doing the cast. However, during the transfer process, much of the power is lost. He can only receive the portion of power that will help his cause. Since there is a little evil in us all, he receives that portion, and thus becomes stronger. But, if I were to join his side, my entire source of power would be useful for dark purposes. All light can grow dim by choice, but never by force. That is why he prefers me alive and powerful than dead and powerless." "I see...so when we lose our power, do we die?" she asked hesitantly. Andrew nodded. "When our entire source of power has been drained, our source of life is drained with it." A short period of silence fell over the two. Avelia dared to break the silence once again. "Master, you didn't answer my second question. Why does he want only you to reign with him?" "Because...I'm his brother," he whispered. Avelia was struck with surprise. Never had any two people seemed so black and white, and yet, they were brothers? "Impossible!" Avelia echoed. "Remember this one thing Avelia, it's very important. After you've received much light, and turn your back on it, it's much harder to ever turn back. As a wizard becomes more evil, his bitterness towards light increases because he knows of its ways. He soon grows such a profound hatred for it, that he'll do anything to shun it." "What do you mean by light?" she asked. "Its the truth that enlightens men to do good. DaBrain used to be as loyal as anyone to light, but he turned." Again, silence creeped back into the room. Andrew covered each eye with a hand, pondering over his choices. The girl was so young to be put in this type of situation. Was he willing to sacrifice his beliefs for the life of his friend? It seemed so selfish, that he wondered if it were best to join DaBrain. Avelia quickly pushed these thoughts out of his mind. "I'll never join him Master. I'd rather die now then aid in the deaths of thousands of others." Of course, his and Avelia's life were not the only ones in jeopardy. If we were to help DaBrain, death and destruction would come to this world far quicker than the dark mage by himself. As he sorted out his thoughts, DaBrain again appeared in his throne, awaiting their answer.

| Legend of Pupu - Chapter 5 Battle of Light DaBrain glared at the pair as he sat again on his throne. A grin appeared on his face, and suddenly his mood seemed to lighten. "So, I assume you have decided to join me rather than watch your trainee suffer a cruel death, Andrew," said DaBrain as though they had little choice. "You underestimate my reason, DaBrain. To join you would cause much more destruction than I could ever imagine. It would mean the deaths of thousands. It is better that one die than a whole nation perish." "Fool! Do you not remember that she is a chosen one?! When she falls, so will the prophecy! You have sentenced her to an early grave. Guards, lead them both down below the dungeon. There, we will show them the true meaning of pain." The two were ceased and brought down a long, spiraling staircase. It seemed to go on forever. The heat increased with each step, and trickles of sweat began racing down their cheeks. They then reached a metallic door. One of the guards pulled out a massive key and unlocked it, and pushed the two into what seemed to be a cave. The cave was lit in a red glow. On the north and south ends of the cave rested two circular symbols, easily big enough to encompass several beings. The symbols had runic writings about them, too old for even Andrew to understand. Suddenly, DaBrain appeared. "Throw Andrew in the cellar, where he may watch this horror with his honorable eyes. The cellar is magical Andrew, spells will be of no use to you in them. Lead the girl into a circle." They cruelly forced Avelia upon one of the runic symbols. However, they showed extreme caution around the spheres. As they walked away, Avelia tried to jump out of the circle, but to no avail. A magical field seemed to force her to stay. She was trapped. "No use trying to get out, my dear. Once one has hovered over the symbolic sphere, they are bound until they've either conquered or been conquered," said DaBrain with much satisfaction. DaBrain made his way to the other sphere, and willingly crossed its borders. He too was now locked within the magical sphere. "Now, The Drain of Power will lead you to your doom. Any last words? No? Then let's end this!" Andrew looked on in horror, innerly praying with all his might. Rays of red shot forth from DaBrains' hand. It bent down like an arch as it headed Avelia's way. DaBrain's face seemed full of mad satisfaction and he continued to emit the rays. Avelia stayed on her knees, calm as a bird in the spring. She knelt with her eyes closed, as though taking no heed of the surrounding events. Finally, the rays struck Avelia, but she gave no reaction. DaBrain's ecstatic expression turned to horror. With determination, he increased the thickness of the rays, but to no avail. Avelia remained there, eyes closed. Then, her eyes flashed open like lightning, glaring at her opponent. A bluish aura emitted from her. "This cannot be happening!" screamed DaBrain. Suddenly, a thick blue ray shot from her and struck DaBrain clean in the chest with incredible force. He flew flat on his back and lay still. With great fear, the guards ran from the room and left Avelia, Andrew, and DaBrain alone. The magical fields seemed to have vanished, and Avelia walked towards Andrew's cellar. With a wave of her hand, the door crashed open and Andrew ran to his brother. "He's still alive, but barely. It seems he was not completely dark after all. A tint of light remained within him, saving him from death. If all his power had been drained, which it would have if he'd lost all touch with light, he'd be dead. Still, life is fading quickly and we must bring him to the land of Eldor. A long healing awaits him there. We must come back later for Supa's treasure later." With a bit of magic, Andrew and Avelia snuck their way out of DaBrain's fortress. It would take a little time before they reached Eldor, and time was running short.
