Chapter 1: Appearance

It was just another dark and dreary day within the realm of Dark Wind. The lords DarkLumina’s castle sitting atop the great triad mountain side. The last standing village within Dark Wind lay peacefully within the valley inside of the mountain range below the lord’s castle. The civilians wore dark and drab clothes and everyone had an umbrella since it was often raining. On the outside of the mountain range creatures roamed freely, killing anyone who may venture beyond the safety of Luminas’ guards, The Servants of Darkness. Within this village many guilds have formed offering training and protection to their fold, friendly competitions have occurred often to see which the best was. After the last competition a guild called Pupu’s Army reigned on top of the rest. Their guild leader was a mighty wizard called Andrew. This night he was walking along through the dark streets his pointy blue wizard hat protecting him from the rain. He walked this path every night to gather his thoughts, and everything seemed perfectly normal. Though tonight was not normal, as Andrew would soon find out. Reaching up he stroked his long white beard, and started to hum quietly to him self, only to be cut silent as a dagger was pierced through his heart from behind. Looking down to see the tip of the blade covered in his own blood and screaming in pain as it was removed from his body. How did he let this happen? No one had ever been able to sneak up on him before, though his thoughts were quickly silenced as he fell to the cold, wet ground and died.

Two weeks have passed since that cold, terrible night. With Andrew gone the guild has gone to its second in command, a man who goes by the name GTMeteor. With the guild in its weakened state it quickly fell from the highest position. A smaller guild quickly climbed in the ranks to take the number one place from them. A guild called, Fated Circle. Lead by a leader from the future, which was called here by a warrior called Lucrecia with the help from the wizard Andrew. The lord Lumina attempted to figure out who was able to slay Andrew, but his attention was quickly drawn away with the constant fighting with the creatures and their attempt to recapture land and expand. The killings continued within those two weeks, an entire guild slain during one of their meeting, ironically their name being Slayers. The leader of Card Club was killed from a distance with an arrow through his right eye during a speech to his guild reassuring them of no danger from the sudden increase of killings within the town. Fear was driven throughout the last ‘safe’ village of Dark Wind. Even the lord was doubling his personal guard, The Servants of Darkness were spread thin, and it seemed like there was no end to this terror. Lucrecia and Bubbles were on full duty within the city while Avelia, Valmur and Lex were sent out to combat the monsters. Daily riots were seen within the guild district, unfortunately Bubbles was the one who had to confront them. They wanted assurance of protection, safety. Doing all she could to calm to crowd “Please people! Calm down, we’re doing the best that we can to find out who is responsible for the recent deaths. We have employed the Fated Circle to help with our investigation….” Broken up by a random yell “They’re just as vulnerable as we are!” another voice chipped in “Anyone in a guild will be killed!” “What about Brain?! It has to be him!” “Yea! He was always talking down to those within guilds” the chants became more and more, and the crowd started to become violent only to all collapse at once. Bubbles gasped in shock as the people fell down, were they dead? Quickly moving to the nearest man she checked for a pulse. “Do not fear, they’re not dead… Only sleeping.” Bubbles quickly jumped up and unsheathed her sword, twirling around she held the tip to the throat of a man behind her.

Smiling without fear of the sword tip to his throat the man who was called Angelus stood tall. “Now now, we’re here at your request. I simply cast mass sleep spell, they’ll wake up in a few hours and their taste for blood will be gone.” Bubbles let out a sigh of relief as she sheathed her sword once more, her blue eyes wandering between the three people standing in front of her. Angelus standing in the front, J102Y next to him currently scanning the area for any hostiles more than likely, and just behind them both was Gilgamesh. The top three of Fated Circle finally showed up from their guild headquarters. “Took you three long enough, We don’t have any leads other than the fact they were all killed with a unique dagger, its blade is cut different than any we’ve ever made within this mountain range. Well, except Irvine… he was killed with an arrow and I don’t believe the same person killed him as the rest.” Angelus nodded slightly “Don’t worry, we’ll find out who did this and make them pay. They’ve killed many good people and we have to stop this culprit before he goes after Lumina himself.” Bowing before bubbles he turned and started off, he knew exactly who to go to for information. DaBrain, if you needed anything within this realm DaBrain was the person to go too. Though his prices would be a little steep, he got items no one else could, information no one else knew. Gilgamesh followed Angelus towards the merchant section of town while J102Y stayed behind. If anyone could pick up a hidden figure it was J102Y, his sensors would pick up any heart beat. Since it seemed that the killer was only after those within guilds, attempting to destroy the foundation of this town first, the guild district would be the best place for him to guard. Though even machines make mistakes, and the killer wasn’t in the guild district.

“Come out… come out… where ever you are….” Angelus called out as he wandered through the back alleys of the market. DaBrain was never around when you needed him, or where you looked. The only time you would find him, is if he wanted you to find him. Of course DaBrain heard Angelus calling to him, he wasn’t that far away. “What can I do for you?” His voice was calm, his dark blue eyes staring up at Angelus and Gilgamesh. Of course he was behind them, and his sudden mark of arrival made Angelus jump, though Gilgamesh simply turned around calm… did anything startle that man? “Now Now, you should know now to sneak up on us… We need information.” Angelus spoke as he turned around, his brown eyes locking with Brains own. “Of course, why else would you seek the only source of it within this town? Let me guess, it has to do with the increased slayings of the guild folk?” His lips formed into a grin, his look intensifying. “It’ll cost you… a lot.” Angelus couldn’t stare into those blue eyes anymore, something about them… intent to kill? No something else. There was something about DaBrain that could scare anyone, well anyone but Gilgamesh that was. “How much?” Angelus finally spoke up as he looked back to DaBrain, he knew he didn’t have that much but he could fork up what ever he’d ask… but at that moment something was able to disturb even DaBrain. His dark blue eyes seem to lose their color, becoming a light blue shade as they went wide and his mouth opening slightly. Angelus’s eye brows furrowed in confusion, noticing that Brains eyes weren’t on him, rather over his shoulder. Turning his head to the side he saw behind him, only for a moment before a blade was pushed forward, the blade sliding across his eyeballs and slitting them open. His mouth opened to scream in pain, but nothing came out… He only fell to his knees as the blade was flipped and slashed at Gilgamesh’s throat. Like the fearless samurai he was, the mutation of Angelus barely fazed him in the least, quickly unsheathing his zantetsu to block the strike. Gilgamesh may be strong, but apparently this assassin was stronger as Gilgamesh’s corpse fell to the ground, his sword splitting in two and his head falling into his own lap. Blood was spilling everywhere within the alley, leaking out of Angelus’s eyes and out of Gilgamesh’s neck. DaBrain was frozen in terror at the event that just happened before him, and Angelus’s voice finally broke free waking DaBrain up from his own trance. That’s when he realized the beast of a monster before him was gone, as if it vanished into nothingness. Angelus’s screams of pain continued to echo in DaBrain’s head as he quickly got up and helped Angelus up, carrying him out into the street leaving a trail of blood splatters behind them. “Get a medic! Quickly!” It may be too late to save his eye sight, but it wasn’t too late to save his life.

Chapter 2: End of Guilds

Three days have passed since the last big killing. Small people vanish day by day, but no other big killings like the death of Gilgamesh, and blinding of Angelus. Even though he saved Angelus’s life, DaBrain was still locked away in the dungeon till they could prove he didn’t do it. Then again, it was for his own safety as well, who knows how many people out there would hunt for his head thinking he was the one killing all the guilds. His eyes opened slowly as he heard a noise coming, the sound of heavy footsteps moved towards his cell. Staring up at ceiling he heard the steps come to a stop, he knew who it was. It was Lucrecia, she had been heartbroken since all of her friends have been slaughtered and there was nothing she could do to stop it. Even her lover Angelus was blind and still hasn’t woken up since the event. “Why did you do it?” Her voice was heavy, filled with sorrow. “I didn’t do it… You know I didn’t.” Despite his situation his voice was still cool and calm… He was only hiding his fear deep inside of him. “DON’T LIE TO ME” Lucrecia boomed before collapsing to her knees in tears “It… It has to be you… No one else could get the upper hand on those two at the same time…” Her head lowered as her hands gripped the jail bars. “You saw his body… Do I look like I have the power to not only break the Zantetsu but Gilgamesh’s neck also? It wasn’t me… It wasn’t even human…” he closed his eyes and shook his head as the images of the alley way came back once more. The creature… It looked like J102Y… but it wasn’t because it looked more human. How could there be another creature like J102Y? It couldn’t be possible. “He… He looked like J102Y…” After a few minutes of silence DaBrain finally spoke up once more. Lucrecia’s head shot up as she glared at the laying man on the shiftily made bed in front of her. “Don’t you try to put the blame on him.” “I’m not saying it was him… it was someone LIKE him.” Slowly sitting up he looked to the armored Lucrecia, like all the Servants of Darkness she wore silver armor with a basic sword at her hip. “Go talk to him… see if he knows anything…” Lucrecia started to nod but quickly jumped up as another voice spoke. “No, don’t. I have something to share with the town…. And a terrible declaration to make.”

Within town central a stand was made where Lumina was supposed to speak, and crowds started to gather. Everyone was there, the current guild leaders towards the front and the nameless masses towards the back. Well, those guild leaders who were still alive and brave enough to stay in the guilds. On top of the stand stood all the current active Servants of Darkness, at the far right was DaBrain chained up and on the left was J102Y. Stepping up between the two Lumina eyed the people before nodding slightly. “I called you all here for a reason, and that’s to clear this mans name.” He pointed to DaBrain and of course got a negative response from the crowd. “It had to be him! There wasn’t anyone else!” “ENOUGH” Lumina boomed out over the crowd. “It wasn’t him…” He took in a deep breath before continuing. “I now know who has been doing the rash of killings… and he is from another continent. They are conquerors more advanced than us but are easily subdued by magic. They are the people who destroyed our neighboring kingdom of Questria. They were foolish enough to let their suspicions of each other kill themselves, but we will not be taken down by this one person… this one machine.” His eyes looked towards J102Y before returning to the crowd. “J102Y isn’t from the future, I knew from the moment he was summoned we caught one of their prototypes. One before it got its true programming which is why I allowed it to stay. He comes from the country that is now trying to destroy us… and since we’re too busy fighting their true forces outside I’m going to have to do the only thing I can to insure every ones protection. As of this moment, all guilds are disbanded and banned within this country until further notice.” Without saying another word, he turned and started back to the castle. Bubbles, Lucrecia, DarkJaxy all started back with him. Though their trip was cut short as the killer showed once more. “There’s one guild you forgot… Yours.” Its voice was cold; almost a mirror image of J102Ys, and what he said was true. Servants of Darkness couldn’t be disbanded lest complete chaos ensue. Lucrecia was the first to attack the machine, unsheathing her sword she swung it down at his chest with her full strength. “You killed my friends! Blinded Angelus! I’ll kill you myself!” Though her efforts were in vein as her attack was simply caught in his right hand. “Foolish girl, you should’ve quit the guild while you had the chance.” Her eyes went wide as three daggers were pulled out of his belt by his free hand. “Now die so I can deal with what I came here to do.” He then sliced his hand across in front of him as if cutting air, but actually he was throwing the three daggers. One into Lucrecia’s heart, another into bubbles lung, and the third finding its way into DarkJaxy’s left eye. They all fell down, two of them dieing almost instantly while bubbles gasped for a breath that she’d never fully get, with her last strength she pulled the dagger from her own chest and attempted to throw it back into the owner of it. Her throw was weak though, as was she at this point and the person only caught it. “Die quietly.” He then threw the dagger once more, this time piercing bubbles heart.

“Enough foolishness. You’re all lucky I’m only allowed to kill those within guilds. We seek to capture, not destroy, but to capture we must destroy the structures of your society. I shall end the last guild right here in front of you all so that our armies can make their last push into this village.” He grabbed Lucrecia’s sword as he moved closer to Lumina. “You act like I’ll die peacefully.” Lumina pulled his sword from his hilt and charged at the creature one last time, ducking under the crossway slice he jumped forward and plunged the blade into the gut of the creature. “Got ya…” “Yea you did… too bad all you did was slow down my mechanics.” Luminas eyes went wide as he looked up to see the tip a sword inches in front of his face. Only to be smashed down through his skull and even piercing the ground below. Blood was everywhere, most people were still too awestruck to do much of anything, though there was one who wasn’t quite out of it just yet. Removing the sword from his own stomach he turned and started to walk away “Prepare to bow down to a new king about this time tomorrow…” though he stopped as he looked to the person in front of him. “Out of the way you outdated hack.” J102Y stood there blocking the path of this creature who had just slain their lord. “What’s your name?” J102Y finally spoke as he pulled out two swords, one for each hand. “Well lets see here… they call you J102Y around here right? That would make me… J105Y? It would make him J104Y… and him J103Y.” At that point two more showed up and grabbed each of J102Ys preventing him from taking any action. “You may not be apart of any guild, but you’re still stolen technology. That’s within our limits to destroy.” “You forget, that’s if you can destroy me.” J102Y chanted quickly and with a burst of strength he sent the two holding his arms forward into J105Y, well in his direction but J105Y simply jumped over the two bodies flying at him to land back in place. “Well wont this be interesting.”

Chapter 3: Fall of Dark Wind

Fire was everywhere, destruction had seized the city. Like J105Y said, that time the next day the war was upon them. J102Y fought him, but still failed. Even now the battle between the two clashed through DaBrain’s head. So much has happened so quickly, with the help of Alliance he was able to escape the town before the siege started today. Moving quickly through the forest on the other side of the mountain he wasn’t sure where he was going to go, but he knew what he had to find. Wincing as he closed his eyes, he couldn’t get the image of those two fighting out of his head. J102Y had charged at J105Y after chucking the other two at him, slicing a sword down and another sideways. The slice was sidestepped but the swing caught 05 in the side, giving him opportunity to pull out another dagger and jamming it down into 02s shoulder. Neither one screamed out in pain, they just damaged each other till one stopped working. First 05 went down; he lost all control over his limbs when 02 managed a punch to the head of 05. Though his victory was short lived, as the other two jumped in and dismantled 02 with their swords. Shaking his head free of those images he opened his eyes and looked around, he had to keep moving or else someone or something might catch him. He heard rumors of ancient ruins that may contain something that could help him. Everyone else was lost, but he wasn’t yet. DaBrain knew he was going to survive, he had to.

Despite the armies overwhelming numbers the people of Dark Wind refused to go down quietly. Each member taking up a sword, a dagger, a spell book and fighting back. War waged within the once quiet walls of the village. Though most of the people who were left were all inexperienced, so the war was quickly coming to the end. Amy and Avelia had managed to return to the village and were leading the rebellion against their so called new leaders. They knew Alliance and DaBrain had not been killed, since those two were one of the few experienced who refused to join a guild, but they knew not where they were and why they weren’t fighting with them. Alliance was actually dead; he was attempting to escape the town with DaBrain to find a way to end this but as soon as they left the mountain range they were assaulted by hordes of creatures that took over ages ago. They were able to fight them off and win, but not without injury. Alliance was mortally wounded and dieing, DaBrain got away with a deep gash on his left arm, rendering it useless though. So now DaBrain was far away, traveling as far as he could before the creatures, the mechanical army, or anyone else who may be chasing him could catch up.

Night was quickly approaching and at this point DaBrain had one thing on his mind- finding a place to rest. Stumbling through the forest he finally found a clearing, no not a clearing. Debris of a civilization long lost, this is what he was looking for. Though he lost too much blood, and was too weak to look for what he needed. Finding a set of ruins that would shelter him, and hide him from anyone who wasn’t looking hard enough he laid down and held a hand over his left arm. It wasn’t bleeding anymore but the pain was still there. As were the pain of the memories he had, despite being alone most of the time many of those who were killed he still considered to be friends. Since they were the only ones he would do business with, they had his respect which was a hard thing to get by most. The sun had set and it was getting cold, his eyes wandered to the stars for answers, but found none… only a trail of smoke that leads to where he came from. Dark Wind was on fire, and he knew not who was still alive. His eye lids grew heavy and his eyes slowly shut as he fell into a deep sleep. He would need his energy for the adventure he would have tomorrow.

Almost as soon as day broke he was awake, jumping up he looked around for anyone who might be there. Jumpy jumpy… calm down. He told himself as he shook his head, you don’t have time to jump over every little noise, you have a job to do now go do it. Using his bare hands he started to dig in random spots, only going a few feet deep in each hole till he finally found a staircase that lead deeper into these ruins. Finding a few logs he tore parts of his shirt and wrapped the cloth around the top of them “Fire” he spoke as the top of one light on fire. He didn’t know what was in there for him to discover, but he was going to because he needed to. He could only hope what he needed was in there. As far as he knew, he was the only one left from Dark Wind and he had to change that.

Chapter 4: A story that never happened, and a hero forgotten.

After a day of searching he was down to his last torch. He was hungry and thirsty, and would soon die of dehydration. At the end of his rope he had to find it, he pushed himself further, deeper. A heavy wooden door blocked his path, with no way of opening it he growled low. “I will not be stopped… FIRAGA” he stepped back as an explosion of fire engulfed the door, only to have no effect. Falling to his knees he shook his head, there had to be a way. Closing his eyes as he thought carefully, how could he do this… shaking his head he let out a scream of frustration. Standing up he rammed his shoulder against the door and let out a scream of pain. Moron, he rammed is left shoulder into the door but it worked, the door moved ever so slightly. Repeating the process till he was ready to faint from the pain… one more time… was all that was going through his head as he continued. Ramming it once more he stumbled into a large library, the middle of which completely open. As he entered lights turned on, and everything light up.

His eyes went wide at the volumes of books, quickly moved to the closest shelf and pulled a book from it. Flipping through it “This is it… this…” He couldn’t believe it; he found the place where all magic was stored. Every spell ever known was recorded here; if the spell didn’t exist then this place would be his tomb. Grabbing random books and flipped through them, he quickly made a large pile of books, shelf after shelf, book after book. Till he was ready to collapse from exhaustion he continued to look. Grabbing an old, leather bound book that looked hundreds of years old, then again they all looked like that, he opened it up and right there was what he wanted. His eyes went wide and a large grin formed on his lips. “Now to fix it…” Moving to the center of the room he set the book down in front of him open to a page and he began to chant. Repeating the chant over and over as his eyes closed and he extended his arms out. “Return me to the start, the moment that decided the end of dark wind.” With a bright flash of light he vanished from that room.

Andrew continued on his nightly stroll, humming to himself. Nothing was out of the ordinary this night; it was raining like so many other nights. His eyes went wide as he heard the sound of a dagger piercing through skin. This time, it wasn’t him though. He turned around quickly to only see a mechanical man standing there as if he stabbed someone. “Thundaga!” Andrews voice boomed through the town as a giant lighting bolt struck inches in front of him and destroyed the would be assassin. What Andrew never figured out is, if he was able to sneak up on him why didn’t he actually kill him? The answer lies with the dead man from the future, whose teleportation spell brought him between the assassin and Andrew though only enough power to be there for a few seconds his lifeless body was returned to its own time in a future that was no longer destined to happen. With Andrew still alive he was able to seed out the other two and destroy them before anyone else was harmed.
