Thumbs up Should Dark Wind be programmed for more TCGs?

Personally, I think Dark Wind is an excellent program and should be used for other TCGs aside from Triple Triad. Which ones would, of course, be up to Darklumina, but I wouldn't mind seeing Inuyasha, Yu-Yu Hakusho, and Magic

Sure it would take more work and time. However, from a business standpoint the popularity of games like those mentioned above could warrant a mandatory subscription fee of $5/month (which I would pay). I'm sure many ppl wouldn't like to hear that, but if it were required in order for Dark Wind to evolve in this way I'd be more than happy to meet that requirement.

so you're suggesting that DW charges people to play an already copywritten product and break a lot of laws in doing so?

Laws have already been broken. It's just that anyone important hasn't noticed/cared. And as for being charged, the power users get charged, so profit is already being made. I don't see much of a difference.

Also, if/when anyone decides to take action on the copywright infringment brought about by dark wind's existance they will most likely follow the same procedure that is always followed: A letter and e-mail will be received demanding that the service be shut down immediately or legal action will be taken. Then, of course, wanting to avoid legal trouble dark wind will be shut down and life will go on. I've seen similar events happen before.

I guess my point is that it's already technically "illegal" now, so you might as well expand the program for the benefit of the community while it still lasts.

While it still lasts?... *chuckles to self* I suppose you're new to online Triple Triad games. The atomsplit-programmed triple triad games have been around for years and years. No lawsuit yet. If anyone were to sue, it'd have happened by now. This game is past popularity and/or interest to SquareEnix or any other game involved (as in the deck images). I'd say we're on the safe side and adding more completely new games to the client would only damage it. Possibly a spinoff stand-alone client for the aforementioned games would be interesting, however, adding it to the existing client is a big no-no.

Keep up the good work, Darky.

FINALLY!
I was waiting for someone to mention this. And, I actually agree with you almost completely. Yes you are more likely to be "threatened" if more games are added, but if that happens a law suit is easily avoided by simply suspending the service and returning to Tirple Triad only. My former point was only to mention that laws have been broken, not that I except square enix to do anything about it because I don't, and I have bee aware of the TT games for quite some time.

In any case I don't now, nor did I expect at the start of this thread, for more TCGs to be added to Dark Wind. I was immensley interested though, to see what kind of debate would result if I brought it up.

Power user is not required to have in order to play. It is strictly on a donation to donation basis. So your outlook on PROFIT is wrong.
